Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque

So right after the trip to Sungkai, my skin was feeling a tad sunburnt but I just slapped on some Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and went to bed without giving it too much thought.

The next morning, I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary with my skin, save for a little bit of a burning sensation when I applied my SKII essence.

Much to my horror, upon a visit to the well-lit office toilet, I realized that my entire face was a mess of dried, peeling crap.

I always knew the lighting in my room sucked!

Had to hide my face from the prying eyes of other colleagues the entire day – which meant cutting down the trips to the water dispenser/toilet/chatting etc boo. Spent my time frantically googling for reviews on facial masks instead.

Right after work, I decided to screw gym class! and headed straight for the nearest salon that sold Dermalogica masks.

Had read rave reviews about the Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque which was supposed to be insanely moisturizing as well as being fab for reducing redness due to sunburn.

*flapflap* RM227.05 flew away (actual price of RM239, with 5% discount).

Hefty price to pay for a day of fun in the sun godz.

Box labelling:

Recommended for the smart management and treatment of skin aging.

A powerful masque of concentrated vitamins A, C, E and F to help skin recover from damage that leads to skin aging while enhancing barrier properties and promoting healthy tissue regeneration. Vitamin A helps increase elasticity and moisture content while antioxidant vitamins C and E help shield skin from Reactive Oxygen Species (free radicals). Nutrient-rich Algae Extract helps moisturize and soften skin, and Pro-Vitamin B5 helps promote restoration of damaged skin while botanical extracts of Licorice, Comfrey and Burdock soothe, calm and help decrease sensitivity.

Use this revitalizing masque as the ultimate remedy for dulling, dry, dehydrated, lackluster, photodamaged skin and skin aging. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

PHEW!

Wonder why my eye area didn’t get sunburnt…

Forehead… Horrible horrible!

Right cheek + nose.

Left cheek + nose.

Skin texture is horribly dry and crackly and wrinkly.
5

Que the Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque – my hero!
6

Texture is pretty gooey and thick and the color is a pastel orange. Found the scent soothing, but *somebody* though it was stinky.
7

Upon application, it melts into the skin to become kinda oily. Perhaps it’s better suited to be used in air-conditioned environments.
8

I used just a tiny amount (cause I’m cheapo), so the color doesn’t really come through, but if you use enough of it, you’ll succeed in looking like an oompa loompa.
9

Left the mask on overnight, and went to sleep with the air-con turned on.

And the next day, walla!

The burning and redness had subsided quite significantly, as had the peeling.

Left cheek.

Right cheek.

Forehead – still peeling, but so much better already!
13

Was pretty pleased with the results.

Decided to use the mask again that night (that’s 2 days in a row) as I still did not want to go to work with skin falling off my forehead.

Peeling wrinkled skin is so not a good accessory.

*crossing fingers.
14

The next day, after washing the mask off, OMG I swear my skin felt buttery soft and smooth!

Best of all, the peeling had totally disappeared!

Hip hip hooray!

Forehead.

Looks like I’ve finally found a Dermalogica product that I actually love woots! Previous products had never produced any real results athough, in all fairness, I’ve always had horrid skin.

Skin’s back to normal in just 2 applications!

Did a third mask session 4 days later. Yep, that’s 3 sessions in a week – expensive! Skin feels really good, although I can’t say it helps with the pimples at all boo.

So in conclusion, two thumbs up for the Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque if you have seriously dry, dehydrated or sunburnt skin =)

This is a really great review – great photos definitely show how the product really works! I do love Dermalogica and although it is expensive this masque really does help with all skin emergencies like yours!

If anyone is in Europe they can get their Dermalogica from the same place as I do which is Jersey Beauty Company who have a really great site and sell the products at great prices eg the masque through them is £21.98.

They often have discount codes available so its worth signing up for their newsletter.

    Thanks for the review. x
