Robin’s + Dennis’ Farewell Dinner

Great. More farewells. Just what we need, right?

So their shot at an appeal to stay got rejected, so they still gotta go to Sarawak. Sucks big time.

Met up for dinner at Kissaten in Jaya 1, where we’ve had several long lunches filled with laughter and joy together in the past.

I don’t want this to be the past T___T

It felt weird having dinner there, instead of lunch. Did any of you guys realise that the sets are a few bucks more expensive for dinner compared to lunch???

Voon Yuen: OM NOM NOM.

EDM’s a bit self conscious about his quadruple chin lol.

Robin / “Ah Sing” <333
3

The 3 of us have yet to receive news of our posting =(
4

5

7

Definitely not Dennis’ best angle lol.
8

9

Mashimaro!
10

Robin asked us to write down our home addresses so he could send us postcards and flowers and presents and money, but somehow we ended up doodling on the paper lol.

From Mama to Ah B.
11

At the flight of stairs outside the restaurant.
17

At the second flight of stairs wtf.
18

At the kedai rokok outside Kissaten.
19

At Palm Square (in between Kissaten, Duck King, Starbucks etc).
20

I’m going to miss the horrible food here. Check out the cool reflection on the car btw.
21

After dinner, we drove back to the office to take a few final photos at the main entrance. It looks really pretty at night – just another thing we never really appreciated I guess.

Oooh never noticed the bpfk website address there before!
22

Bureau’s gate is green in colour!
23

Lol at the shadow of the gate on us! UIA’s palm trees look so pretty under the moonlight.
24

And then we had to say goodbye to Dennis because he had to meet up with a cousin or something.

The remaining 4 (sobs!) of us drove to Section 17 to take photos of a couple of random places we used to have lunch at.

Jackson, where we ate chap fan.
25

Road divider in between Jackson and the pasar.
26

Hong Seng, where we always went for chicken rice.

And then we called it a night.

Missing Dennis, Robin, Fei Hoong, Kai Shing, Xin Yin (the people who appealed) as well as all the rest so much. Boo.

Kepong Crab

The thing about people is that we tend to take things for granted.

We took for granted that we would have plenty more time together – so we made plans for the future but never actually executed them.

We took our bliss for granted. Which is why only after the posting results came out did we start to really cherish our moments together. Only then did we actually start spending more time hanging out together.

Sad.

Anyhuu, today the few of us who were left standing headed down to Kepong to have dinner at this kononnye famous crab restaurant.

Robin had the pleasure of driving us there lol.
1

The place was packed and we had to wait in line for a table. However, the waitress there was really sweet and patient and their queuing and ordering system was pretty well planned =)

9

I look SOOO stupid kiap-ing his finger.
2

3

4

By the time the food came, all of us were starving after getting random whiffs of other people’s food here and there.

So an unusual silence fell upon the table as everyone gorged themselves. And this stupid Robin kept asking “Eh why everyone so quiet wan, so weird!” Dsh. Don’t disturb us can or not, we’re trying to eat ok! Lol.

5

6

7

I half-broke my nail trying to pry open a stupid shell T____T
8

Flower crab got, dragon-claw crab got, meaty crab got, wooden crab also got!
10

The bill came to RM30 per pax – very reasonable considering all of us ate more than we should have.

If we get to stay back at the bureau, I swear I’m going to buy a weighing scale and bring it along on all our food trips! Heh.

After dinner was Round 2 at SS2, to meet up with Su-Ann.

The first thing I made her do was to fetch me to McDs to pee cause the mamak didn’t have a toilet lol.

Somebody looking intellectual chewah. Oh, but I better not make fun, later she bitchslap me =(
11

After about an hour or so, we were all pretty drained so home it was.

Came home and was about to go to bed manatau Bilin was online so we started gossiping for like an hour omg.

Words of Wisdom from Bilin:

“You never end up with the one you love the most.

And you never end up with the one who loves you the most.

You only end up with the one with whom you can settle down.”

So far the first statement has been proven to be true.

The second one I’ll never know because I can’t read minds.

And the third one is what I’m still searching for.

12

[My brain damn kosong wan lor actually. All I ever think about are handbags, clothes and boys lol.]

Dusty Musty Giveaway

Wife decided to go out with her friends drinking and dancing.

Husband okay with it because he gets to watch sports all night.

Husband hears wife stumble into bed around 4am and he laughs,
knowing that she’s is going to have a massive hangover tomorrow.

Husband wakes up early next morning while wife is still fast asleep
and goes to check on the family Volvo which she used last night.

Husband sighs in relief as it is still in one piece, same as before.

He then circles the car looking for dents and finds none.

But……….Wait a minute…..

W.T.F is that?

Chap Hai

There we were, on an ordinary Saturday night, having dinner at Pizza Hut together.

The night was still young, so a discussion as to what we should do next ensued.

I of course wanted to go up to Genting to makan angin. Sadly, Miss Astro decided to make her debut there that night so Genting got ruled out as they weren’t too keen on getting stuck in a jam 500km above sea level (I have no idea how high Genting is lar, don’t quote me).

Anyhuu, after much yadda yadda we finally decided to take a drive down to Port Dickson – partly because Alwyn’s parents were there and partly because we just ran out of ideas.

And much to my delight, Alwyn decided to bring Woolie (his long-coat chihuahua) along!

As JaeShen so emphatically put it, “He every time also home alone so cham“.

Kien Fei, Bam Bam, Woolie and I =)
1

Wonder why big dudes always go for tiny lap-dogs lol.
2

Somebody Somedoggy got really excited when we stopped for gas.
3

Only upon reaching PD did Alwyn tell us that we were actually going to be crab hunting OMFG!!!

What the hell is crab hunting? How the heck to you catch crabs?

Apparently there are many ways. You can set a trap, you can use your bare hands + plastic bag, you can use a BBQ skewer and you can even use a rod (I think he meant a fishing rod).

Damn excited ok!!! I simply love doing this kind of kampung-boy stuff!

Emo Alwyn and dog.
4

Woolie wasted no time in annoying JaeShen by getting entangled in his legs lol.
5

And of course we city people had to have help from some true blue kampung boys. Who came in the form of Alwyn’s dad’s ex-lorry driver and family who are PD locals.

Damn farnee ok. Mum says “Oi aku nak masak ketam esok malam” and the whole family turns up at the beach to catch dinner.

Entourage setting off.
6

*Sniff sniff. I imagine the night must have been super exciting for Woolie =)
9

He started shivering halfway through so we had to carry him around after that.
10

Woolie doing a Prisonbreak HAHAHAHA.
11

I think I annoyed the hell out of the PD dudes cause I kept screaming and acting like I’ve never seen water before in my life lol. But anyhuu they managed to ignore me and concentrate at the task at hand.

All he needed was a plastic bag and his hand to catch the crab omg!
12

This one pulak used a BBQ skewer. Can straight away put it on a BBQ pit to cook lol.
13

Using a net to try and catch little fishes and prawns.
15

T.T I felt sad for the crab boo.
14

Contrary to popular believe, the water was actually pretty clean, although I can’t deny it was really dark lar. Maybe got big shit floating in the water also a bit hard to see. But then there seemed to be tonnes of crabs and corals and sea-life all over the place, so I think PD must be slowly reverting to its original beauty =)

A baby sea urchin me thinks.
18

Hideous sea cucumber.
21

Caught this prawn which had just changed its shell, so it was like really slimy and soft and disgusting lol.
24

It glows!
23

Definitely not my best angle, but oh well.
17

Ever the ah pek.
19

The sexy boys.
16

It was quite a fruitful night, I would say. You can tell male and female crabs apart by the shape of their backside.
22

At slightly past midnight, the dudes decided they had had enough, so we slowly pulled ourselves out of the waters. By then I was already dead tired from trying not to lose my slippers in the sea while at the same time trying to balance with rocks and corals underfoot.

25

Not even bothering to wash up, we bundled ourselves back into the car and sped home, stopping only for a super expensive supper at the PD rest stop.

26

Now, that was certainly a fun night! I super want to go crab hunting again, and the next time maybe I’ll actually manage to catch something =)

[Just realised we didn’t actually get to eat any seafood boo. Nvm wait for Alwyn’s Teluk Gong thing to finally jadi.]

K lar now if I get thrown to Sabah/Sarawak I’ll at least know how to hunt for food hip hip hooray.

A complete circle

Kai Shing’s birthday was the last of the 13 we celebrated together.

Despite having to part, I think all of us are glad that we at least got to celebrate everyone’s birthday.

Now, the circle is complete.

sadness

It still hasn’t sunk it.

I can’t believe it. I can’t accept it.

I’m sorry for all the mistakes I made, and even more than that, I’m sorry for all the times together that we’ll never get to have.

Something wonderful that could have been, but will never be. Not now; probably not ever.

But still it hasn’t sunk it. So still there is this hope that it might be. Although it cannot be.

Why is fate so cold?

I don’t want to wish for more, I cannot wish for more, but still I do. Victim to circumstances beyond my own control.

Sigh. It aches so.

Being rational is not a strength I possess.

I need to let go.

A prelude to 9 long goodbyes

So the October posting results were out. Of the 15 people in the October batch, they decided to throw 13 people to Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan and Pahang. The remaining 2 got retained just cause one was pregnant and one had titanium cables able to withstand any kuasa or Directive. Shit, shy a bit lar man.

Of the 9 people in our gang, all 9 got kicked out.

Major bummer.

There we were, wondering which one of us would be on the chopping block. Manatau every single person got sent away.

Last Friday was a really emotional day for all of us.

We had our final lunch together in Jaya 1 followed by some DeepaRaya celebration back at the bureau.

Teman Su Ann to the bank first.
