Melaka with the Gay Partners et al.

The trip to Melaka turned out to be a success, filled with hyperactive laughter, food and good friends.

Contrary to popular belief, Li Ping did not wake up late. In fact, I had set my alarm for 8am but my stupid biological clock was still tuned in to work-mode and I woke up at 6.30am and couldn’t go back to sleep sigh. Which means I slept for like 5 hours only =(

Anyway, I waited for the dudes for 22 minutes *clapclap* punctual gile aku ni.

Lapan sekawan di dalam Estima. Sangat sempit di belakang. Kesian.

Estima damn chun sial! It has a backside camera which shows the road behind when it’s in reverse gear!

First stop was to pick up Joyce from Klang. So of course we just had to have bak kut teh for breakfast, since we were already there.

Only, it wasn’t bak kut teh. It was something called “hong bak“. Yeah I know it sounds like Ong Bak.

The hong bak stall doesn’t have a signboard, but the one beside it is Elim Florist and Gifts =)

Hong bak: An ugly ugly thing.

Continued on our way to Melaka, with Kien Fei pecuting at a scary 160-180km/h, but thank goodness I dozed off otherwise sure pening gile babi.

The next thing I knew, Alwyn was cursing about the jam. Went back to sleep. The next thing I knew, we were in the Air Keroh rest stop.

Good. Pee time.

Alwyn and Jae Shen and me.

Upon arriving at Melaka, we picked up another friend of theirs, Wei Phin, who was a local and who turned out to be a pretty marvelous GPS/tour guide.

Kien Fei and Wei Phin at the bestest cendol stall in Jonker Walk.

Only RM1.50 per bowl slurps!

We were supposed to have the famous chicken rice ball, but by then the chicken was already sold out T.T You can still see so many kiasu people lining up cause they didn’t believe there wasn’t anymore chicken I think lol.

NO kai!

It was at this depressing moment when Soon Seng decided to announce his arrival at Jonker Walk. So ngam he was in some ulu place near Melaka (which according to him has lots of stray dogs and no mugs/bowls) for a church camp so we had arranged for a meet up.

And no, I’m not that important. He was also supposed to buy 4 mugs, diapers and dunno what else, which was why he had to come in to town anyways. Lol.

We then adjourned to this ulu-ish shop selling satay babi. This is actually the exact same shop the gang and I went to during the last Melaka trip (31.08.08) which proved to be a huge disappointment cause the satay was dry and horrible..

Only this time, the satay wasn’t too horrible.

Maybe we were just anticipating too much the last time. Cause we sesated jalan and had to hunt for the shop for 1 whole hour. Grumpy grumpy.

Mr Soon Seng (with his new Transition lenses wtf) and I.

Face-slimming sunbeam.

All 9 of us.

Soon Seng hard at work.

Look! Fat man! No lar, I was pointing at the satay but too bad the dude went and stood there.

Right after the satay snack, Soon Seng and I parted ways as he had to start checking things off his shopping list.

The 9 of us then continued on our food quest, with the next stop being satay celup.

Famous food stalls in Melaka are always packed. Sigh.

Ilusi optik.

Alwyn bought “9688” and “6889” but neither were winning numbers.

We then drove to the beach (YAY!) to work off some calories. And boy did I!

I always always always love going to the beach, even if it’s as cacat as the one in Melaka =))) And I managed to syok sendiri all on my own, even without backup from the girls! Independent SS-er sial!

Fine. The 3 guys contributed quite a bit too *aww girlfriend!

The setting sun made for an awesome backdrop.

I bullied Alwyn and Jae Shen into taking a jumping shot as well, and omg the pictures came out hilarious!

Step 1: Sumo bow of respect.

Step 2: Brace for takeoff.

Step 3: The sky’s the limit! (NOT)

Alwyn and I.

Kien Fei damn layan my SS-ness wan lor *aww.

Burying Jae Shen(‘s feet) alive!

My turn, hence the muka tulan.

One of the idiots hid my slippers in the sand ish.

After we were tired of jumping around, we headed back to Wei Phin’s house for a shower and 40 winks. 9 different funky smelling people sitting in one car is not a good thing, if you know what I mean.

I like pink, he likes red.

*Nag nag nag. Kena scolding from Ah Ma veli good.

Ah Ma sudah KO.

OMG I tell you!! I was so tired throughout the entire trip I slept every single moment we were in the car sial. According to Alwyn I just slept, woke up to pee, slept, woke up to eat, slept, ate, pee-ed, slept, and so on and so forth.

Next stop was a late nonya dinner at Ole Sayang, another one of Melaka’s famous food destinations.

As you can see, there is not an empty table in sight.

The aunty who came to take our order was damn fierce! When Kien Fei wanted to order some deserts she was like “That wan later!” OMG.

Found much amusement in the antique door.

WooOOooOOOoOoOOOo!~ Looks damn scary actually.

After that, we headed back to Jonker Walk to hang kai, much to my horror. I was so damn tired, jostling with aunties was not exactly what I wanted to do.

Nice, peaceful back-road leading to the noisy zoo.

Anyway, Alwyn, Jae Shen and I ended up getting separated from the group cause the 2 buggers wanted to fag.

We walked til we sampai the stage then Alwyn had the bright idea of using a back-road to go back to the car so we didn’t have to jostle with the crowd again.

Walk and walk and walk.

Came to a Shell station. Jae Shen went to pee, Alwyn and I went in to buy drinks.

Much to my amusement, there was this white board with tips on what to do in case of a robbery.

C = Calm (Bertenang)
O = Obey (Ikut arahan)
P = Picture (Gambaran)
S = Safeguarding (Jaga nyawa sendiri)

ROFL man!!

I wonder how many times that petrol station has been robbed.

I also wonder what the robber will feel when he reads that load of crap lol.

Anyhow, we continued along the road and waddaya know, we ended up right back where we started – at the stage. GAR!

After Jonker Walk we were supposed to go to some hot spring place to rendam but we ended up heading back to Wei Phin’s place for another nap. Damnnnn tired ok!

The only people who weren’t KO-ed were Alwyn, Jae Shen and Kien Fei who continued eating – this time it was wan tan mee.

By the time we left for home it was around 1.30am already I think.

Next thing I know, it was 3.30am and I was outside my house and the damn door was locked boo so I had to wake up maid up =(

But yeah, I had a really really great time! I only wish I hadn’t been so exhausted! Next time I should drink essence of chicken first before going anywhere =)

Destroyed manicure akibat digging in the sand.

Next outing in the pipeline: Rent a bungalow in Port Dickson for a BBQ party. But have to wait til Su Khok comes home first. Weee!
